Ingredients

  • 1 cup bourbon whiskey preferably a smooth bourbon
  • 1 cup fresh citrus juice lemon or orange juice for brightness
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract adds depth to the flavor
  • 2 cups ice cubes for blending into a slushie texture

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Pour the bourbon, citrus juice, simple syrup, and vanilla extract into a blender.
  2. Add the ice cubes on top of the liquid ingredients in the blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes thick, icy, and slushy, about 30-45 seconds. You should see a smooth, semi-frozen texture with tiny ice crystals.
  4. Pause the blender and check the consistency—if it's too thick, add a splash of citrus juice and blend briefly again.
  5. Once blended to your desired slushy consistency, pour the whiskey slushie into chilled glasses.
  6. Garnish with a twist of citrus or a small sprig of mint for visual appeal if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon for a refreshing, adult treat.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a dash of bitters or a splash of soda water before serving.
