Ingredients

  • 1 pack pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 8-10 slices pepperoni slices for mummy wrapping
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, optional for extra flavor
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for brushing crust
  • to taste salt for seasoning

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Rolling pin
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular shape on a floured surface, then transfer it to the prepared baking sheet. This prepares the crust for shaping and baking.
  2. Brush the surface of the dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle a pinch of salt to enhance flavor. This helps the toppings stick and gives the crust a beautiful golden color during baking.
  3. Spread shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the entire dough, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges. The cheese will melt into a gooey layer that forms the base of your mummy.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and slightly golden. Remove it from the oven and let it cool just enough to handle safely.
  5. Circle the edges with strips of pepperoni, overlapping slightly to resemble bandages. This creates the wrapped mummy effect around the perimeter of the pizza.
  6. Using small pieces or cutouts of remaining cheese, create two eye holes near the center of the pizza. Place small pepperoni slices or other toppings in the eye holes to mimic pupils, adding expressive features to your mummy.
  7. Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until the pepperoni edges curl slightly and the cheese is fully melted. The mummy should look crispy and cheesy, ready to serve.
  8. Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into rectangles to reveal the gooey cheese and charmingly spooky bandages, then serve. Enjoy your fun and delicious Halloween treat!
