Frozen Rosé Berries

Frozen rosé berries are made by pouring rosé wine over fresh berries and freezing the mixture until solid, resulting in a refreshing, icy treat with a fruity aroma and a crushed ice-like texture. The final product appears as a colorful, chilled block or scoop that can be served in a glass or bowl, perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle rosé wine preferably chilled
  • 2 cups fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Freezer
  • Spoon or spatula

Method

  1. Arrange the fresh berries in a baking dish or freezer-safe container in a single layer.
  2. Pour the chilled rosé wine evenly over the berries, ensuring they are coated but not submerged completely.
  3. Gently stir the berries and wine together to distribute the flavors evenly.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or a lid.
  5. Place the dish in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until completely solid.
  6. Remove the frozen berry mixture from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to slightly soften.
  7. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, break the frozen block into chunks or serve as scoops, revealing its icy, crushed texture.
  8. Serve immediately in glasses or bowls, optionally garnished with extra berries or mint leaves for decoration.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle a little sugar or honey over the berries before freezing.
